1996 Herreshoff Buzzards Bay 25, USD $75,000 (new price!), Manchester, MA

ECLIPSE combines all the pedigree and craftsmanship into one beautiful package.

Nathaniel Herreshoff’s Buzzards Bay 25 is widely considered to be one of the finest yacht designs of all time. Dramatically beautiful, extremely fast, yet easy to sail, with a large uniquely comfortable cockpit and just enough in the way of accommodations to allow for the occasional overnight or weekend cruise, the Buzzards Bay 25s tick off all the boxes on any sailor’s wish list.

Like her Buzzards Bay 25 sisterships, ECLIPSE is the picture of grace and elegance under sail. Built by Damian McLaughlin, Jr. in 1996 using the modern technique of cold-molded wood-epoxy construction, ECLIPSE is finished with gleaming white Awlgrip topsides and varnished teak on deck befitting a yacht of her pedigree. Most recently ECLIPSE has been under the care of Manchester Marine (Manchester, MA) where significant repairs have been made that will reap benefits for many trouble-free years to come.

ECLIPSE has been very lightly used by her current owners and is highly recommended to those who desire the penultimate classic for day sailing, overnighting, or participating in the classic yachting regatta circuit where these boats have in recent years captured much in the way of trophy silver, effortlessly outpacing much larger yachts with only working sails and minimal crew. She is currently under the care of Manchester Marine (Manchester MA) where significant repairs and thoughtful upgrades have been done. These include the hidden installation of a fixed marine head with holding tank and pump out capabilities.
