1997 Herreshoff Buzzards Bay 14, Sandwich, NH

FLEUR-DE-LIS is an authentic L. Francis Herreshoff design, built by the respected Seth Perrson of Saybrook, CT, and is built plank on frame. Widely regarded as one of L. Francis’ most elegant contributions to the American daysailer tradition, the Buzzard’s Bay 14 is a master class in classic hull lines, sea-kindly behavior, and functional beauty. The class was originally introduced in the mid-forties as design number 86. The exceptional pocket yacht was conceived as a slightly larger, faster, and more weatherly evolution of the legendary Herreshoff 12 ½ designed by the architect’s father, Nathanael Greene Herreshoff.
